Tenancy laws in Australia

It has been a while since I posted to this blog. Have you missed me?

My Rental Agreements DIY Australia site just keeps going from strength to strength.

Our "Tenancy Laws in Australia" page is being dicussed in a number of forums.

This page gives an overview of rental bond rules, advance rent and ending the tenancy for each state and territory in Australia.

It is a pretty good page. I haven't seen another like it although I would be surprised if I was the only one.

To ensure some level of accuracy I went to each state body and read their various tenancy booklets. I can't begin to tell you how exciting that was.

Most were reasonably straight forward but the Victorian rules for ending a tenancy were all over the place.

As I am a New South Welshman I suppose Victorians might say that shows the low level of intellect from across the border. But the truth is we like it simple in NSW so we can get things sorted and head off to the beach.

The page must have some impact because people are ringing me fairly regularly for advice. Both landlords and tenants ring me to ask about answers to their rental problems. I politely refer them to the correct state authority so they can enjoy a chat with the government. Always a joy
